Routine Eye Care

Dr. Woodruff provides complete routine eye exams at our Story Avenue office.

We know that all routine vision exams are not the same.  When you see our doctors you will receive a full comprehensive exam which uses the most current technology to give you a complete visual assessment.  We will do everything in our power to ensure that your result is your best corrected vision.  We use the most current instruments to detect any possible signs of elevated intraocular pressure (which can lead to glaucoma).  We use tried and tested drops to dilate your eyes so that we may provide you with the best recognized, most thorough, comprehensive exam.  We don’t take shortcuts with your eye health.

Student Eye Exams

The eye doctors of The Eye Care Institute provide complete eye exams for everyone from ages four and up.

If your live in Kentucky and your child is entering school for the first time (whether Kindergarten, or due to transfer from out of state) your son or daughter is required to have an eye exam by a licensed doctor. Our eye doctors gladly perform these student eye exams, and complete the required Kentucky paperwork on your behalf.

Contact Lens Exams and Fittings

Prescriptions for contact lenses are not the same as eyeglass prescriptions. Since your eyeglasses rest away from your eyes, while your contact lenses touch your cornea, the prescription powers are different. More importantly, contact lenses have to fit correctly so that oxygen flow to your cornea remains normal. Finally, the fit of contact lenses is crucial to your comfort level and ability to be a successful contact lens wearer.

At The Eye Care Institute, we provide Contact Lens exams and New Fitting instruction lessons every day. Allow us to show you how comfortable new contact lenses can be. From contact lenses that have bifocal power, to lenses that correct for astigmatism, we provide the most comprehensive selection of lenses to give you the best possible vision.
